Housing the Homeless

Posted: November 29, 2011 in Uncategorized

I’ve been doing some personal research to try and find some important figures. I want to know how much it would cost on average to house clothe, and find a job for a homeless person, and possibly counselling if they need it. I want to compare this with the amount our country spend on illegal and questionable foreign conflicts. This is a personal quest but I feel it’s relevant to this because I’ve met quite a few of Bournemouth’s homeless community over my last few days, plus a few others who have only recently managed to get off the streets. I feel It’s really given me a chance to get out of this western bubble of perfection that we’re all perpetually trapped in.

When I know this figure, I’m going to start doing my best to contact government sources and ask them personally why we’re wasting money fighting illegal wars and bombing Libya when there are still people living on the streets in a country which we like to believe is a power of the western world.
